Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient records and ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of medical information. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and proficiency in various systems used for maintaining medical records. The Medical Records Clerk will support the efficient operation of our medical office by facilitating the flow of information between healthcare providers and patients. This position also covers our Central Medical Supply ordering, stocking, and inventory for a 120 bed skilled nursing facility. Familiarity with medical supplies, ordering and staying in budget preferred.
Duties
- Maintain and update patient medical records, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Organize and file documents in accordance with established protocols.
- Retrieve patient records for healthcare providers as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for audits or compliance checks.
- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards regarding patient confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff to clarify any discrepancies in records or documentation.
- Utilize various electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage patient data efficiently.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication and record management.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software applications.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in record keeping.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
