What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Materials Testing Technician position at Tierra, Inc.?
Tierra, Inc. is actively seeking highly motivated engineering technicians in our Winter Garden, Florida office. We are also looking for technicians located around the Polk County area for our Polk County projects. We have an immediate opportunity for experienced Construction Services technicians. Duties include performing field density tests, soil sampling, physical properties testing of cast-in-place concrete, drilled shaft inspection, and/or pile driving inspection. This position requires physical ability to navigate typical construction terrain, climb ladders to access remote areas, and lift up to 50lbs. This job is a full-time, hourly position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Travel to job sites in a company-provided vehicle
- Perform field density testing, soil sampling, physical properties testing of cast-in-place concrete, drilled shaft inspection, and/or pile driving inspection
- Perform sampling of construction materials
- Document field activity in daily reports
- Communicate and coordinate with project engineers, other inspectors, and construction personnel
- Follow and support all site safety policies and procedures
- Some night and weekend work is expected
Preferred Education/Experience:
- 2 years verifiable experience providing field inspection and testing
- ACI Certifications in field testing
- Construction and/or engineering experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 18 years old with a valid driver's license
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations
- Ability to communicate with project team

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
