The Design Engineer team member is a hands-on position which requires a combination of technical expertise, communication skills, creativeness, and a passion for providing a high-quality RV to our customers. This role is involved in the entirety of the design process, from conceptual to production ready. Translation from concepts of interior &/or exterior designers into a production friendly product with cutting-edge floorplans and technology.

Purpose
The Design Engineer team member is a hands-on position which requires a combination of technical expertise, communication skills, creativeness, and a passion for providing a high-quality RV to our customers. This role is involved in the entirety of the design process, from conceptual to production ready. Translation from concepts of interior &/or exterior designers into a production friendly product with cutting-edge floorplans and technology.
Responsibilities/Essential Duties
- Create innovative design concepts while considering aesthetics, functionality, manufacturability, and cost
- Utilize CAD software to create 3D models & production drawings to accurately depict the design intent
- Provide technical guidance to manufacturing supervisors and production employees
- Collaborate with various teams including Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, & Production
- Participate in 3D model reviews to verify various systems throughout design are accounted for properly
- Develop continuous improvement designs and new innovations to enhance the product lines
- Perform drawing reviews/approvals for Manufacturing Engineers
- Create and audit BOMs for pilots via the ECN process
- After initial pilot build, correct any open issues based on design and address all necessary RESs as they are submitted
- Stay current with industry trends and technology to ensure innovation and a competitive edge
- Proof reading of marketing materials for product accuracy
- Provide continuous production support during pilot builds to address any issues that may arise
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Outlook, and SAP
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Design Engineering in RV industry or related field
- Solid knowledge of RV design, materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards
- Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate and form relationships throughout the organization
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in engineering or related field a plus
- Problem solving skills with an analytical mindset
- Prioritize multiple projects to ensure a quality product within a specified timeframe
