Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our team and support the education of young children in a child care setting. Duties
- Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assist in creating a safe and welcoming classroom environment that promotes social-emotional learning and development.
- Encourage children to explore and learn through play-based activities.
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of each child.
- Use classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and organized learning environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing materials and maintaining classroom records.
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure a seamless transition between home and school.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to children as needed.
- Monitor and report on the progress of students, identifying areas where additional support may be needed.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education.
Requirements
-Must be 18 years of age
- Experience working with children, particularly in early childhood education settings.
- Strong knowledge of literacy and math education principles.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience with classroom management and creating a positive learning environment.
- Familiarity with autism and the needs of children with autism.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- High School diploma/ GED REQUIRED.
- Experience with childhood development and the principles of childcare.
