The Role: Plumbing Apprentice
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour, increases available as levels are achieved.
Gas allowance for the training period is available for those who qualify.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Routine Plumbing Maintenance – Conduct scheduled inspections and maintenance on residential plumbing systems to prevent issues.
- Inspect and Diagnose Plumbing Issues – Identify potential leaks, clogs, or worn-out components and recommend necessary repairs.
- Repair and maintain Fixtures – Service or replace faucets, toilets, sinks, water heaters, and other plumbing fixtures as needed.
- Ensure Proper Pipe Functionality – Inspect pipes for corrosion, leaks, or blockages and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Follow Safety Protocols – Adhere to company safety policies and industry regulations, including proper use of PPE, safe handling of tools, and compliance with OSHA standards.
- Communicate with Customers – Educate homeowners on plumbing system care, provide maintenance recommendations, and answer questions.
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel and attend classes during apprenticeship training period
- Adept at using the basic tools of trade
- Good math skills for accurate measurements
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Strong active listening skills and a passion for the trade
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently and take guided direction
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation
Preferred Requirements:
- Recent graduate of an accredited skilled trade or vocational program
