Tax Manager / Sr. Manager (Alternative Investments) - Hybrid Schedule
We are working with a nationally recognized CPA firm with several offices in the NY Metro region (including Long Island) that is looking to add both a Tax Manager and Sr. Manager to their growing alternative investments tax practice. The firm has done exceptionally well with retention, and these roles are a direct result of continued growth in the practice. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to become a Partner in the next 2-5 years, depending on experience.
The firm offers a flexible hybrid schedule and an excellent work culture with great leadership and strong client base. Their client base is primarily a mix of private equity and hedge fund clients ranging from small to very large AUM.
Responsibilities:
- Review partnership and corporate tax returns as prepared by staff and/or seniors for accuracy
- Manage tax and consulting engagements and enhance skills allowing you to identify and address client needs, tax planning, and consulting opportunities
- Review quarterly and year-end tax projections
- Strategize with partners and the client engagement teams on tax planning
- Work closely with the management team to mentor, train, and supervise staff
- Works directly with clients and their advisors to gather information needed to prepare tax returns
- Maintains communication with clients even after the work is complete to ensure quality service and maintain a relationship for future work
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of relevant tax experience in a tax advisory or CPA firm
- Experience in the financial services industry required – private equity/hedge funds or both
- Strong knowledge of tax planning strategies and compliance in all areas of partnership tax
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management
Salary : $150,000 - $275,000
