Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Technician to join our team. You'll work with DAS technologies to deliver in-building wireless solutions, ensuring high-quality standards throughout the installation process. This position is hands-on, dynamic, and will require travel to various project locations.
Duties
- DAS Equipment Installation: Install outdoor and indoor antennas, coaxial cables, fiber optic cables, CAT 5/6, DC power cables, and other relevant components following NEC standards. * Cabling & Testing: Place, prepare, terminate, and secure copper coaxial and optical fiber cables to respective connectors. Test and troubleshoot cables , Anritsu Sweep, PIM gear, and fusion splicing tools. * System Configuration & Integration: Configure and integrate DAS head-end equipment, including Rectifiers, Battery Systems, Blueprint Reading: Interpret and follow design drawings, blueprints, and installation guides to ensure proper system installation. * Independent Work & Team Leadership: Work independently and/or direct a team of installers, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards. * Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation, including customer prints, project status updates, material usage, and expenses. * Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor less experienced technicians, ensuring proper training and adherence to best practices. * Warehouse & Inventory Assistance: Help with warehouse maintenance, inventory management, and material logistics as needed.
Experience
- Experience: 1-2 years of telecommunications installation experience, with expertise in fiber, copper, and/or coaxial terminations and testingJoin our dynamic team where your expertise will contribute to maintaining high operational standards while fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Familiarity with JMA compression connectors, Anritsu Sweep, and PIM testing.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Must be able to repeatedly ascend and descend ladders (6ft-14ft)
- Travel: Must be willing to travel for project assignments lasting up to 4-6 weeks at a time with short breaks in between. Travel will constitute over 60% of the role. * Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license, drug screening, and pre-employment physical. * Tools: Must provide basic hand tools.
