What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary STEM Camp Teacher position at TigerLily STEM?
WE ARE LOOKING CERTIFIED TEACHER SUMMER CAMP INSTRUCTORS!
Summary:
We are TigerLily STEM, a local company focused on making STEM education fun for all students! We are hosting summer camps at many Des Moines Metro Area schools and are looking for fun and energetic instructors with teaching experience and a passion for STEM! Camps are one week long and take place either in the morning (9am-12pm) or afternoon (1pm- 4pm) Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching groups of students (primarily in grades K-5) about various STEM topics through hands-on activities in a classroom setting (maximum ratio 1:16 students)
- Traveling to Des Moines metro area schools to lead STEM summer camps
- Completing required lesson plan training
- Picking up and transporting class supplies at the beginning and end of camps
- Interacting with school staff and parents
Qualifications:
- Must be a certified teacher
- Experience mentoring, teaching and/or working with groups of children required
- Must be comfortable independently teaching groups of elementary students in a classroom setting
- Must have a passion for getting more students into STEM fields!
