As a Entry-Level Staff Engineer, you will join our Land Use Team in either our Rhinebeck, NY or Troy, NY office, where you’ll play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure projects across the Northeast. Our Land Use Team and Projects
Nearly 120 professional engineers strong and recent recipients of multiple ACEC Engineering Excellence and ASCE Project Awards, our senior technical and project management leaders have earned an outstanding reputation with private, state, and local government clients. We assist clients from the initial conceptual stages of a project through schematic design, design development, permitting, construction documents, bidding, and construction oversight. Well versed in local, state, and federal regulations and permitting requirements, as well as ever evolving climate change impacts and concerns, we strive to incorporate sustainability and resiliency into our site plans and designs.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Playing a key role working on site planning, computer drafting, design, and permitting projects
- Assisting on construction phase services for land development and renewable energy projects
- Preparing technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, and correspondence
- Observing construction, helping with shop drawings and submittals, and creating as-builts and record plans
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Completed FE or E.I.T. certification or planning to complete it by graduation
- Relevant experience through internships in surveying, engineering design, permitting, consulting, or construction observation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Eagerness to learn, intellectually curious, self-motivated, and excellent organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or SolidWorks
- Understanding of hydraulic/hydrological studies and modeling
- Relevant internship experience
