Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Aquatic Technician to join our team. This role involves the maintenance and treatment of lakes, ponds, fountains, and other water features. You will be responsible for water quality testing, aquatic vegetation management, and operation of boats and application equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain the health of aquatic environments
- Apply herbicides, algaecides, and other treatments according to safety regulations
- Conduct water quality tests and record data
- Operate boats, sprayers, and other field equipment
- Perform inspections and routine maintenance on fountains and aerators
- Communicate with clients and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate records of work performed
- Assist with fish stocking, biological assessments, and erosion control measures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, or related field preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Experience with small boats and aquatic equipment a plus
- Knowledge of aquatic plants and algae, and safe chemical handling practices preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work
