Position Summary : Tigua Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced On-Site Safety Specialist to oversee worksite safety and ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and government regulations. This position is specifically for the Santa Teresa Port of Entry Project and is contingent upon contract award.
The On-Site Safety Specialist will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs to protect employees, subcontractors, and stakeholders while fostering a culture of safety excellence on government contract sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance, ensuring a safe and productive work environment throughout the project's duration.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety policies and procedures to comply with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, NFPA, and federal / state safety regulations.
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure a safe work environment.
- Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to educate employees and subcontractors on best safety practices.
- Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and other required documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to enforce safety policies and implement corrective actions.
- Always ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
- Assist in the preparation of safety reports, compliance audits, and risk assessments for management and government clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety concerns on-site and facilitate communication between employees, supervisors, and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct emergency response drills and ensure preparedness for workplace hazards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned .

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
If this position is listed as onsite, you’ll work with colleagues and clients in person, as needed for the specific role.
