Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse. This includes ensuring the timely completion of all warehouse duties and responsibilities, maintaining a high standard of safety, and ensuring employee performance aligns with company expectations. The Warehouse Supervisor will work closely with the General Manager to manage warehouse staff, address operational challenges, and maintain inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Supervision and Performance:
- Oversee and direct warehouse staff to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Ensure all warehouse employees are equipped with proper safety gear (e.g., steel-toe boots, helmets, cut-proof gloves) and are adhering to safety protocols.
- Address and correct staff issues as needed, ensuring timely feedback and performance improvement.
- Participate in employee annual reviews alongside the General Manager.
- Warehouse Safety and Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment, including exterior areas, bulk storage, and merchandising area.
- Ensure that safety inspections, including fire extinguisher, ladder, exit signs, and emergency lighting checks, are completed according to schedule.
- Warehouse Operations:
- Ensure that all daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse responsibilities are completed efficiently.
- Manage inventory and verify bin counts twice yearly for accuracy.
- Oversee proper staging and labeling of customer orders for pickup or delivery, ensuring all materials are correct and intact.
- Reports and Documentation:
- Run and monitor key warehouse reports, including Open Transfer Reports, Open Purchase Order Reports, Open Pick Ticket Reports, and Receiving Bin Reports.
- Document any discrepancies in materials and communicate issues effectively to ensure resolution.
- Ensure that all communication regarding inventory and customer orders are properly recorded.
- Receiving and Material Management:
- Verify the accuracy and condition of materials upon receipt, ensuring that all discrepancies are resolved.
- Ensure proper placement of received materials in designated staging bins.
- Ensure timely and accurate customer communication, confirming order readiness for pickup or delivery.
- Additional Duties:
- Assist in scheduling deliveries.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on special projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in warehouse management or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or a related role, with a strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as necessary.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
