What you will do:
The Process Engineer leads the design and implementation of solutions to improve quality, reduce cost, and increase capacity. The Process Engineer works closely with the Site and Corporate teams to support exploring engineering solutions that enhance profitability and growth by reducing operating costs and downtime.
Here’s a day in the life:
Process Optimization & Innovation: Support the development a long-term vision for process improvement, aligning with organizational goals. Identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement. Evaluate risks associated with these changes and propose mitigations. Evaluate emerging technologies and their potential impact on processes.
Process SME: Provide technical support for plant teams to improve quality, reduce cost and increase capacity.
Design, procure, install, and start up a Project: Demonstrates design capabilities in specification, verification, and calculation of fluid and thermal-based processes. Design processes to support the project goals. Considering both short-term and long-term effects. Specify equipment and instrumentation to support capital projects.
Project Leadership: Initiate, plan and lead capital and non-capital projects to ensure timely and cost-effective achievement of project objectives. Manage mid-sized capital improvement projects. Preparation of the RFP including clear statement of work, project success criteria, process flow diagram, equipment specifications, FAT expectations, and T&Cs adequate to support accurate vendor proposals.
Process Modeling: Develop and maintain process models that support capacity, financial and risk analysis. Using these models as tools to support strategic decisions related to capital investments.
Ensure work complies with quality and regulatory standards.
Ensure adherence to all safety guidelines and work to provide a safe work environment for all employees.
Demonstrate knowledge of P&ID development and engineering specifications development. Experience with piping layouts, tank/storage handling, and fluid diversion, mixing of fluid as well as pumps, and valves.

Utilize a computer with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering, chemical, mechanical or technical discipline or equivalent relevant work experience.
7 years food or beverage manufacturing processes.
Have experience with the following: Mass balance process flows and calculations, heat exchange (conceptual, theoretical, & applicable), and food or dairy packaging experience.
Experience working with multi trade based vendors/contractors.
Show familiarity with USDA Dairy and 3A Sanitary Design Standards.
