Visitor Center – Custodian (Full-time)

What you will do:
The Tillamook Custodian is courteous, helpful, and enthusiastic with extraordinary guest service skills to work in our fast-paced Visitors’ Center. The Custodian is responsible for cleaning the facilities of the Visitor Center to help make every guest experience a memorable one. The Brand Ambassador maintains Tillamook’s Shared Values, creating a world-class guest experience to the one million guests that visit annually, and supports in the Creamery’s daily operations.
Here’s a day in the life:
Clean indoor retail, food service, guest experience, ice cream, and employee break room areas as needed, including but not limited to: restrooms and floors, dust and vacuum, empty trash and recycling, clean glass and counter areas, displays, floor mats, etc.
Maintain and clean outside patio, parking lot, garbage cans. Maintain dumpster area, loading dock and outside break area. Clean outside windows Run garbage compactor as needed. Assist transporting cardboard to the Plant for recycling and helping run the cardboard compactor.
Perform simple and basic maintenance repairs and give special projects assistance. Help all Visitors Center staff members as needed, including, but not limited to setting up and breaking down spaces for special events.
Ensure proper labeling of chemicals and assist in maintaining MSDS’s.
Check and maintain all custodial equipment for peak operational efficiency. Operate a floor scrubber.
Clean kitchen floors and equipment including hoods and dishwashing area, etc.
Assist in keeping supply closets stocked with cleaning agents and paper goods for efficient operations.
Other duties as assigned by custodial supervisor or custodial lead.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
Communicate effectively.
Act as a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.
Work independently with little supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school diploma or GED is preferred
1 year of custodial experience
Physical Requirements:
Standing and/or walking
Lifting 45 lbs.
Vision for inspecting cleanliness
Hearing
Climb ladders
Work various shifts and weekends
