What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Operator position at Tillamook County Creamery Association?

What you will do:
Operate TCCA’s combined process and sanitary wastewater treatment plant according to standard operating procedures and in compliance with all applicable regulations. Conduct daily tests to monitor treatment process and operate the wastewater treatment plant in the absence of WWTP Manager
Here’s a day in the life:
Perform daily laboratory bench tests to ensure proper operation of plant and conform to DEQ requirements.
Cleaning, grounds keeping, and janitorial duties around the wastewater plant.
Support maintenance technicians with plant maintenance in the total productive maintenance environment.
Operate de-watering screw press units.
Maintenance Duties Performing routine maintenance around the buildings such as greasing bearings, changing the oil in gearboxes, minor plumbing repairs, pulling pumps, installing pumps and motors, painting of pipes, applying preventative measures to buildings, pumps, and piping.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.
Communicate effectively.
Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply high school biology, chemistry, algebra, geometry, and statistics to real world problems.
Take initiative to learn and advance in WWTP certification.
Utilize a computer with basic knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, and SharePoint.
Act as a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
High school diploma or GED is required.
One year of education from an accredited college or technical school is preferred.
WWTP Grade 1, 2, 3, or 4 certification or experience working in a dairy plant.
Forklift training and operating the forklift. The need to drive the sludge truck on the creamery property (no CDL needed).
Working conditions:
Laboratory: Shared workstations, including testing equipment and computer terminals. Generally quiet, temperature controlled, well lit. May include walking on uneven, slippery surfaces and encountering forklift traffic. Requires standing majority of shift, working with chemicals, walking on uneven, slippery surfaces, stooping, bending and crouching and climbing ladders. Duties may include repetitive motion of hands and lifting up to 55 pounds.
