INTRODUCTION
This classification performs manual laborer and custodial duties associated with parks maintenance.(Duties assigned to this classification include, but are not limited to, the following examples. Any one position may not perform all listed duties.)
Skills: Skill in the operation of hand tools and lawnmowers. Skill in the operation of a light pickup truck.
Abilities: Able to perform continuous manual labor including frequent bending, walking, manipulation of equipment and lifting up to 50 pounds. Physical strength and ability sufficient to perform manual labor for extended periods of time. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with others. Ability to work out-of-doors in inclement weather. Ability to work flexible work schedules including weekends and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS
Sufficient education and/or training to demonstrate the ability to read and write and perform the work of the position. Upon appointment, must have a valid Oregon driver's license and a good driving record.SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
Work under close supervision of the Parks Office Manager or other assigned person. Supervision of other employees is not a direct responsibility of this position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an outdoor environment in all types of weather, and may require bending, climbing, gripping with hands and fingers, hearing voice conversation, walking, standing and stooping. Laborer positions also involve lifting up to 50 pounds, operating power tools and light equipment with common exposure to paints and chemicals, pulling, pushing, and shoveling.

- Clean restrooms including toilets, sinks, and floors. Stock supplies.
- Perform basic grounds-keeping duties such as lawn mowing, trimming branches, and cutting brush.
- Maintain camping areas. Collect garbage. Repair tables and other equipment.
- Respond to general inquiries from the public. Inform guests of park rules.
