Job Summary
- Ensure consistent quality of our production output. Conduct laboratory tests on incoming raw materials, in-process production samples, and final products before distribution.
- Perform daily analysis of incoming raw materials, blends, and reevaluations.
- Perform qualitative organoleptic evaluations of material.
- Analysis techniques include Specific Gravity, Refractive Index, Optical Rotation, LAB Color, Gas Chromatography and GCMS.
- Interpret complex GC analysis of essential oils.
- Assist in investigation of root cause of internal and external non conformances.
- Aid in implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain all lab equipment including daily calibrations.
- Modify, improve, and validate analytical procedures to meet QC’s needs.
- Enter analytical results into Laboratory Information Management system.
- Perform all functions and duties of QC Technicians as needed.
- Assist with production activities as they relate to quality.
- Initiate new policies and procedures to meet demands of increased production and faster turnaround times.
- Education: BS science degree (Chemistry or Food Science preferred); MS degree preferred.
- Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in a (flavor, fragrance and especially essential oils) lab setting, background in QA/QC,
- Familiarity with Industry standards and regulations.
- Certified Auditor is considered a plus
- Fluent in English, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent olfactory skills and product knowledge are essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of quality procedures and SOPs.
- Good time management and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Handles deadlines in a flexible and positive manner.
- Must exercise good judgement and professionalism.

- Keyboarding. Entering text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard.
- Speaking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing Requirements. The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds.
- Near Visual Acuity. Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., use of computers.)
