Job Title: Financial Coordinator

Role Overview
The Financial Coordinator ensures Tillie's Touch's fiscal health and sustainability. This part-time position requires a commitment of 2-4 hours per week. The Coordinator will oversee financial operations, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. Working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, this individual will help manage budgets, track expenses, and support the financial planning necessary to achieve the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting & Planning
- Develop, manage, and monitor the organization’s annual budget.
- Collaborate with program leaders to create program-specific budgets and financial forecasts.
Financial Oversight
- Record, track, and report financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the Board of Directors.
- Monitor cash flow and recommend adjustments to maintain financial stability.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal nonprofit financial regulations.
- Oversee tax filings, grant financial reporting, and audit preparation.
Fund Management
- Track donations, grants, and other funding sources, ensuring proper allocation and reporting.
- Work with fundraising teams to align financial goals with development efforts.
Financial Systems & Processes
- Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Manage bookkeeping systems and related financial software.
Qualifications
- Experience in accounting, finance, or a related field (nonprofit experience preferred).
- Knowledge of nonprofit financial regulations, including tax-exempt status and grant reporting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
