About us: Tilman’s is a wine and cheese bar and café on the downtown mall in Charlottesville, VA. We are a small locally-owned business with a passion for good cheese, great wine, and Charlottesville.

We are hiring for: part-time and full-time team members. Ideally you have a love of wine and cheese. We are looking for service oriented team members for our wine bar, cheese counter, and cafe.

This is a great opportunity to learn all of the stations in our restaurant: Bar where we focus on a changing wine by the glass menu, seasonal cocktails, and local beer & cider. Cheese Counter where we focus on unique cheese boards, retail cheese, and customer interactions. And our Runner position where you serve and interact with guests. We work as a collective at Tilman's where each team member cross-trains into all of these roles.

Team Member Job Duties include:
- Exceptional customer service: greeting guests, taking orders, serving tables, and customer interaction
- Helping guests choose wine & cheese, which requires menu knowledge
- Serving wine, beer, and cocktails at our bar
- Cutting cheese & charcuterie to order, and helping customers select them
- Running prepared foods to our pick-up counter, and to the outdoor patio area.
- Register duty
- General cleaning, food sanitation, and upkeep duties, including dishwashing

Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years old or older in order to serve wine & beer
- Must be able to work nights and weekends
- Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen & retail environment
- Able to stand on your feet for long periods of time (6-8 hours)
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of wine is preferred, but not required
- Availability on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage, plus tips. We pool tips, and our hourly wage is $9.50 tips. We average $17-$22 per hour

Pay: Up to $19.00 per hour
