Reporting to the Project Manager, the Field Quality Manager plays a vital role in OSP’s leadership team, facilitating and governing field construction quality and safety. The Field Quality Manager will specifically maintain the quality and schedule while supporting the work of our underground and splicing construction crews. This role will lead and manage OSP Construction Supervisors.
Position Description
- Maintain a safe environment and ensure all safety standards are met.
- Must take leadership role in establishing safety culture.
- Responsible for the overall construction schedule, including the scheduling and management of construction inspections and internal inspectors.
- Responsible for construction quality, inspection, and true up of quantities.
- Maintain accurate field notes and photographs via our construction software.
- Representing Tilson on site walks or closeout activities with customers and permitting authorities.
- Must be able to identify issues that will cause delays and apply innovative solutions.
- Strong attention to quality construction practices and ensuring timely close out and delivery of the project schedule.
Position Requirements
- Must have strong knowledge in OSP construction techniques and practices (underground and aerial placement).
- Must have strong knowledge of industry standard fiber splicing techniques and practices.
- Two years of direct experience directing and managing OSP construction and inspection crews.
- Willingness to learn new skills, software, and technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Products, and Google Earth.
- OSHA 10 or higher required, or successfully complete within 90 days of hire
- Valid driver’s license.
Travel Expectations: Travel in or outside the region minimal at 10%
