Position Description
Reporting to the OSP Construction Manager, the OSP Construction Supervisor plays a vital role in OSP’s leadership team, facilitating and governing field construction. The OSP Construction Supervisor will specifically direct and support the work of our aerial and splicing construction crews.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe environment and ensure all safety standards are met
- Must take leadership role in establishing safety culture
- Responsible for the overall construction schedule, including the scheduling and management of construction inspections and internal inspectors
- Responsible for construction quality, inspection, and true up of quantities
- Representing Tilson on site walks or closeout activities with customers and permitting authorities
- Must be able to identify issues that will cause delays and apply innovative solutions
- Strong attention to quality construction practices and ensuring timely close out and delivery of the project schedule
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have strong knowledge in OSP construction techniques and practices (underground and aerial placement)
- Must have strong knowledge of industry standard fiber splicing techniques and practices
- Two years of direct experience directing and managing OSP construction and inspection crews
- Willingness to learn new skills, software, and technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Products, and Google Earth
- OSHA 10 or higher required, or successfully complete within 90 days of hire
- Valid driver’s license
Travel Expectations: Travel in or outside the region minimal at 10%
Must be at least 21 years of age to meet Tilson’s driving eligibility requirements.
