Position Description
Responsibilities:
- Foreman is an active, hands-on position that leads the day-to-day activities of an aerial telecom construction crew
- Foreman is responsible for overall site and crew safety and must exhibit and uphold Tilson's safety values
- Must have a solid working knowledge of all aspects of telecommunications aerial construction including make ready requirements, strand placement, cable placement, lashing, over-lashing, guying and other aerial telecom construction work flows
- Must understand and uphold NESC code as well as all local and pole owner requirements
- Individuals must be able to read prints and have knowledge of the aerial construction process
- Responsible for safe operation of all aerial bucket trucks and equipment
- Serve as single point of contact with company crews, customers, inspectors, and vendors performing work in the field
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong work ethic and desire to be a leader
- Must be a clear and effective communicator and have a positive attitude
- The ability to manage and direct construction crew
- Valid US Driver's License
- Ability to travel regionally, including overnights, up to 90% of the time
- Able to work in a fast-paced, outside environment
- The ability to work safely, with or without supervision
- Ability to operate equipment, including, but not limited to aerial bucket truck, lashing equipment, and other equipment
- 5 years experience leading aerial telecom construction crews
- OSHA 10/30
- CDL preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Travel Expectations: Travel in or outside the region up to 90%
Must be at least 21 years of age to meet Tilson’s driving eligibility requirements.
