Position Description
The Network Field Technician is part of a team to survey and gather utility pole data throughout the city and surrounding towns, as well as programming and deploying network equipment. The Network Field Technician will report to the Project Manager on a daily basis, and will be responsible for meeting or exceeding pole survey targets and equipment deployment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.

Position Description
The Network Field Technician is part of a team to survey and gather utility pole data throughout the city and surrounding towns, as well as programming and deploying network equipment. The Network Field Technician will report to the Project Manager on a daily basis, and will be responsible for meeting or exceeding pole survey targets and equipment deployment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
Responsibilities
- Understand fundamentals of network device interfacing and programming
- Experience working with RF transmitting equipment and understanding of principle of RF theory
- Field inspect and gather specific data fields for utility poles along assigned routes using smart phone, tablets and/or cameras
- Gather information regarding attaching companies, pole owner information, and photo documentation
- Be able to exceed required production targets and report and download information daily
- Field engineers with some telecom or utility experience a plus
Position Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time while surveying
- Ability to use smartphones, tablets, applications, and web-based programs to complete surveys and upload results daily.
- Surveying and field work experience
- Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Comfort with Google Earth
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Valid driver’s license
- Prior RF technical experience preferred.
- Engineering or technical background preferred.
