This role will serve as the primary manager for traffic control setups/breakdowns and flagger management throughout designated work zones. You will be the main point of contact for production based management roles as it relates to traffic, and will coordinate the process and day to day management of all traffic related items in support of micro trenching, boring, fiber placement, splicing and restoration crews.
Responsibilities:
- Managing traffic supervisors and subsequently their traffic crews, in setting up/breaking down/flipping traffic setups in accordance with approved TCP's (traffic control plans)
- Hiring and initiating any disciplinary action for employees in your organization
- Managing time entries coordinating hours for all employees in your organization
- Issuing work direction to your crews for traffic setups, including the location/TCP/signage/hours of operation
- Ensuring all Tilson safety and OSHA requirements are followed by your organization in accordance with local and national standards as applicable
- Identifying and coordinating the removal of traffic setups that are not being utilized
- Coordinating with fleet and supply chain management to ensure that all equipment/materials needed for the traffic organization are in working order
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification through the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA)
- Proven experience working as a flagger
- Proven experience working in traffic control management as it relates to ROW construction (minimum 2 years)
- Sound knowledge of state traffic regulations
- The ability to stand and/or drive for extended periods of time Effective communication skills, including the ability to coordinate consistently over MS teams, text messages, email and phone calls
This is primarily a field based position, candidates will spend 50% to 75% of their time in the field between crews.
