About the Position.
The City of Denton, Texas, is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead Discover Denton, the city’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, serving a growing community of approximately 150,000 residents. The Chason Group (www.thechasongroup.com) is leading the executive search for the city.
Currently operating as a department within city government, Discover Denton is set to transition into a stand alone 501(c) Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) within the next 12 months, offering the new Director a unique opportunity to shape the future of the organization.
The Ideal Candidate.
Collaboration with key stakeholders in the city, region, state, and nationally will be particularly important for the candidate selected. A track record of building strong and meaningful relationships with partner organizations is also a key skill set the Search Committee will be looking for in professionals applying for the position.

The City of Denton is offering an extremely lucrative compensation package, including health insurance, retirement, vehicle allowance, professional development and memberships, and a relocation package. Finalists are subject to provisions of the City of Denton in terms of its hiring policies which may include drug screening and background checks. The selected candidate will join the City of Denton at a mutually agreeable date.
