What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Roofing Superintendent position at Tim Leeper Roofing?
JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of the Superintendent is to be the liaison for the Operations Manager in
the field. They oversee the Sub-Crew Leader, ensure safety is upheld, verify installation details are correct, keep the jobsite organized, and problem solve with the Project Manager to ensure the job is on schedule, on budget, safe and meets our quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Understand the specifications and details of all systems installed and monitor quality of installations
- Review and comprehend the Scope of work provided by the Project Manager
- Communicate and manage job-specific safety plans prior to the start of each job and make alterations as conditions change
- Discuss next day goals with Project Manager, including strategies to maximize material and manpower
- Monitor material usage, minimize waste, anticipate shortages and request materials as needed
- Know when customers have communicated specific concerns or requests and make every effort to honor their instruction
- Ensure crews have the correct scope, material and equipment necessary to complete each project
- Perform daily inspections of jobsite and work performed, such as test welds, probing seams, equipment checks, safety review, etc. and submit daily reports for review
- Discuss change orders with the Project Manager for consideration
- Resolve complaints and grievances with crew
- Ensure jobs are completed to the quality level promised
COMMUNICATION
- Daily with Crew Leader and Project Manager to ensure daily goals are met
- As needed with Salesmen to update on projects, discuss concerns and change orders needed on projects
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
5 years experience in commercial construction, preferably roofing
ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Able to convey information, concepts and concerns to people with differing communication styles in a clear, calm, professional manner
- Detail oriented
- Organized with a desire to adhere to processes while being flexible to change
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Demanding excellence and high-quality workmanship

- Ability to excel in a team environment
- Proficient with smart phones, tablets and laptop using software, such as Office suite, Google Docs, Calendar
- Driver's License (Required)
- Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
