Looking for an experienced Pediatric Medical Assistant wanted for large, fast paced pediatric office. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, clients, and patients. Applicants must have strong organization and customer service skills, good attention to detail and strong work ethic. Pay will be based on experience and education.

Administrative Duties:

  • Answer phones as needed and triage appropriately.
  • Relay messages as may be required by physician.
  • Order and stock supplies.
  • Review chart prepping for the next day.

Clinical Duties:

  • Prepare rooms for the day.
  • Escort patients to room and preparing patients for examination.
  • Assist the physician during exams and with paperwork preparation if needed.
  • Record height, weight, blood pressure for well visit; chart and graph findings.
  • Perform vision and hearing screenings.
  • Clean and restock rooms and equipment.
  • Prepare and run laboratory tests.
  • Assist providers and nurse with procedures.
  • Maintain accurate daily vaccine inventory counts in the fridges and cross reference with binders and EMR.
  • Ear piercings.
  • Identifies if immunization records are available and checks online registry.
  • For new patients, locates old records from filing or parent.

SKILLS:

  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure a timely patient flow.
  • Must have experience administering vaccinations and working with children/babies.
  • Professional and efficient verbal and written communications internally and externally.
  • Accomplish tasks through teamwork and initiative.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)

EXPERIENCE

  • Pediatric Medical Assistant: 1 year (Required)

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma
  • Medical Assistant certification (Required)
  • CPR certification (Preferred)
