Purpose:
The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional service by preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to patrons at Timber Lake Playhouse. This position plays a key role in ensuring a positive experience for guests before and during events while maintaining a clean and organized bar area and complying with all relevant health and safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and Serve Drinks: Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Patron Service: Provide friendly and efficient service to patrons, ensuring a positive experience and assisting with any beverage-related requests.
- Cash Handling: Process payments accurately, handle cash and credit card transactions, and ensure the proper closing of tabs.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout events. This includes wiping down surfaces, washing glassware, and disposing of trash.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, restock supplies as needed, and report any shortages or needs to the front-of-house manager.
- Compliance: Ensure all alcohol service complies with state and local laws, including checking identification for age verification.
- Set Up and Breakdown: Set up the bar area before events, including organizing tools, garnishes, and drink supplies. Break down the bar area after events and ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored properly.
- Health and Safety: Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both patrons and staff.
- Assist with Event Support: Help prepare the bar for special events, and offer suggestions to improve guest experiences.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous bartending experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation, bartending techniques, and drink recipes.
- Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions with accuracy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
