What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Timber Lane Allergy & Asthma Associates PC?
Timber Lane Allergy & Asthma Associates is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be hard working, organized, detail oriented, a team player and have exceptional time management skills. Prior healthcare experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. Compensation is based upon a candidate's work experience. At this time we do not offer health insurance.
*This is not a seasonal or temporary position*
4 days per week, Monday- Thursday (7:30am –430/5pm)
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Obtaining patient medical histories in person
o Entering data into electronic medical record system
o Performing pulmonary function tests
o Performing allergy skin tests (skin prick, intradermal and patch tests)
o Teaching patients correct technique for medication administration: inhalers, nebulizers, nasal sprays, eye drops, self-administered medication auto-injectors, and peak flow meters
o Transmitting electronic prescriptions as directed by physicians
o Filling out lab requisitions
o Arranging referrals for other specialists and specialized testing procedures
o Contacting patients to review lab work results
o Maintaining adequate supplies of testing materials
