POSITION SUMMARY

The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for ensuring safe, on time delivery for various customers while maximizing productivity and profitability of an assigned fleet of drivers. Fleet Coordinators will also create a positive work environment to enhance driver retention while adhering to DOT regulations and company policies and procedures.

MAJOR TASKS

  • Manage driver utilization to ensure their drivers achieve targeted utilization levels; works with Customer Service Representatives (CSR) to improve driver productivity.
  • Monitor hours of service to support load planning management.
  • Answer phone calls and electronic communication from drivers.
  • Sole communications link to driver, including but not limited to, load information, advances, company updates, maintenance coordination, etc.
  • Manage on-time pickup and deliveries, out of route miles, fueling locations, home time and time off requests, hours of service, performance, etc.
  • Provide positive and ongoing support to drivers.
  • Closely work with safety, operations, and maintenance departments to maintain company and DOT compliance.

Skills & Requirements

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 2 years transportation or traffic experience; preferably dispatch or operational background.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with Qualcomm, McLeod, and Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations.
  • Ability to problem solve, research discrepancies, and troubleshoot roadblocks.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
