Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Directs and manages fiscal, treasury and risk management functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for TP Trucking & Logistics. Accomplishes the organization’s strategic financial objectives by developing financial information, monitoring and evaluating plans and results, and developing and enforcing controls. The Controller is a member of the management team, which determines business strategies.
Must be able to work in the Central Point, OR office. This position is not eligible for remote work.
MAJOR TASKS
- Responsible for month end close and reporting processes.
- Develops plans, budgets, forecasts, financial results and other reports to guide management decisions. Forecasts, analyzes and utilizes financial information to advise management staff on financial matters and the development of Company plans and strategies.
- Supervises accounting team in completion of daily business activities.
- Oversees lease schedules, lease and fixed asset software.
- Manages financing arrangements for trucks and trailers with key banking partners.
- Supervises payroll team.
- Responsible for the design, proposal and administration of risk management and loss prevention programs. Gauges risk exposure and potential liability in all matters concerning the Company and develops sound risk control measures. Responsible for insurance purchasing for the organization.
- Protects assets by establishing credit policies and by developing and managing credit procedures. Determines customer credit capacity and directs the compiling of credit information. Determines action to take in collection of past due accounts.
- Conducts financial analyses to identify profit improvement opportunities by studying business opportunities. Works with management employees to evaluate options and advise on decisions for expansion or purchase of plant facilities or product lines.
- Leads year-end audit process with external auditors.
- Assists with implementation of accounting systems and accounting policies and procedures.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
oPrevious experience with ERP system preferred.
oExperience with McLeod software preferred.
