What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Skills Coach position at Timber Ridge School?
Timber Ridge is a year-round residential treatment center licensed and fully accredited school. Our employees transform the lives of adolescent boys. This position will be working within our Transitional Living Program with boys between the ages of 17-20. Our proven residential programs focus on the whole student, emphasizing physical and emotional health, educational achievement, vocational interests, independence, and social interaction to help every child achieve his greatest potential. Our campus is located just 20 miles northwest of Winchester, Virginia.
Qualifications: Minimum High School diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field is preferred. 6 months experience working with teenagers OR Associates Degree plus 3 months experience working with teenagers OR Bachelor’s Degree.
$2,000 sign on bonus $1,000 to be paid out after successful completion of probationary period (appx. 60 days from hire date) and $1,000 paid out after six months of employment in good standing to employees with a hire date 6/1/2024 through 12/1/2024.
Responsibilities:
· Assists in developing and implementing a program for transitional living.
· Build rapport with students to support successful completion of goals. Guide students in the steps of basic adult living, education and career planning.
· Will provide transportation to various external resources.
· Coordinates the establishment of a daily routine in the Unit which ensures a significant positive influence on the student.
· Monitors records within the Unit to ensure adequacy and comprehensiveness of Unit record-keeping with regard to medical, hygiene, daily living skills and socialization issues.
Wednesday (2:00 PM-11:00 PM), Thursday/Friday (3:00 PM-11:00 PM), Saturday (9:00 AM-11:00 PM).
REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
· Professional work or volunteer experience with teenagers required.
