What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Coordinator position at Timber Ridge School?
Timber Ridge School is a year-round licensed residential treatment facility and accredited school located in the Shenandoah Valley. Our employees transform the lives of emotionally and behaviorally challenged adolescent boys with a goal of reuniting them successfully with their families and community.
Responsibilities include: Develop, maintain and oversee working relationships with community providers to ensure all medical appointments and follow-up recommendations are documented, monitored and reported according to standards; arrange and communicate with staff for all medical appointments and services; schedule and track medical, vision and dental appointments, coordinate transportation schedule; update and maintain student medical records, including retrieval and copies of medical records; responsible for timely submission of insurance authorization requests, or other forms requied for reporting and billing purposes.
Minimum qualifications: Experience working with diverse populations, including children and adolescents. Two years’ minimum experience in a medical office required. Knowledge of medical terminology. Education beyond high school or GED, Associates Degree preferred. Excellent computer, written and verbal skills. Good time-management skills and ability to prioritize.
