Long Term Substitute - Elementary Music Teacheropen until filled
Timberlane Regional School District is seeking an energetic individual to plan and carry out an effective long-term substitute music education teaching environment that will maximize learning for all students and contribute to their development as confident, competent, and creative learners. The successful candidate must have a strong primary area of study in elementary music education with a focus on choral education and pedagogy as well as effective organizational skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plan, communicate and carry out effective music instruction to maximize learning for all students.
2. Plan general music classroom instruction and thematic lessons for students in grades K-5.
3. Plan choral instruction and prepare music for performance for students in grades 4 and 5.
4. Engage and support all students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies and resources to respond to students’ diverse needs and by engaging students in problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
5. Create and maintain an effective environment for learning that engages all students in purposeful learning activities and encourages constructive interactions among students. Establish and maintain standards for student behavior, managing routines, transitions, and instructional time effectively.
6. Demonstrate strong knowledge of subject matter content and student development by organizing curriculum to maximize student learning.
1. Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with parents and staff.
2. Attend grade level/department/staff meetings.
3. Participate as an active member at schools including extra duties as assigned.
Job Related Skills and Essential Qualities
1. Knowledge in using data and making instructional decisions.
2. Knowledge of instructional strategies, curriculum, and assessment.
3. Skilled at facilitating groups.
4. Effective written and oral communications.
NH Certification and music education degree is required
This assignment is to begin immediately and last through the end of this school year
Salary placement is based on relevant work experience and education
Two years of work experience equals 1 step on the Teacher pay scale
