Assurance Farm Production Caretaker (Full-Time, Monday-Friday)

Job Summary

Timberline is America’s largest feeder insect farm. We are currently looking to hire workers for our brand-new Assurance Farm, located south of our main farm near Lake of Egypt. The Assurance Farm project was started with the goal of protecting the supply of feeder insects to the pet industry using innovative new breeding techniques. We are looking to hire highly responsible individuals to be a part of helping build up our Assurance Farm from the ground up.

As a Production Caretaker, you will care for our Superworms. This will mean learning the entire life cycle process from setting the pans to harvesting the worms. You might be a great fit at Assurance if you enjoy a job where you can work with your hands and learn to do a variety of different tasks. It is especially important that the person we hire for this role be a self-starter who can work well accomplishing tasks independently. To work with Superworms, you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the day, stand, bend, squat, climb ladders, and move freely throughout the room for the entirety of your shift without limitations. You must be comfortable handling and working around worms and other insects.

Job Description

Some of the things that you will do as a Superworms Caretaker include:

• Set up and place grow pans, add dry feed, and measure proper number of beetles and pupae.
• Regularly measure out dry feed and add in food and water source periodically.
• Learn to isolate and harvest worms.
• Use date tracking to monitor health and quality of worms.
• Wash grow pans to recycle them for continued use.
• Follow all instructions and perform other tasks assigned by the Manager.

Schedule

The schedule for Assurance Farm is a fixed day-shift schedule as follows:

• Monday-Friday: 7:30 am-4:30 pm (with 1 hour lunch)
• Saturday/Sunday: Off

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
