Job description
Timberline is in search of a part-time animal caretaker for our wide variety of reptiles and amphibians kept in our state-of-the-art facility. This animal caretaker will play a vital role in the overall welfare of the unique animals that we keep. Our reptile facility is a clean, first class indoor environment designed specifically for this purpose.
Essential Functions and Main Responsibilities:
- Daily, thorough cleaning of all enclosures including glass, dishes, bedding, etc.
- Developing and implementing a detailed feeding/watering schedule for each species and enclosure.
- Feeding the animals as needed, including specialized diets according to schedule.
- Medicating animals as directed, if needed.
- Daily evaluation of heating, lighting quality, and overall environmental conditions.
- Maintain inventory of lights, fixtures, and bedding.
- Create new enclosures for new animal arrivals.
- Develop and place orders for any necessary food items or inventoried items.
- Care for live insects that serve as primary food sources for the animals in our care.
*Must have animal handling experience
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
