This is an early morning shift- 4:30am-10:30am
Perched on our second floor circular balcony—surrounding a massive stone chimney—the Rams Head Bar is the perfect location for family-friendly drinks and snacks with stunning views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson.
Rams Head baristas perform several job duties and provide customer service. Baristas at the Rams Head take orders and make coffee, tea, and other drinks to customer specifications. Baristas may field customer complaints or questions, as well. Baristas at the Rams Head also must often clean coffee machines, seating areas, and preparation areas during a normal shift. Baristas work to maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages as well as complete assigned tasks from management every day.
Requirements
- Responsible for all opening and closing procedures.
- Prepare or serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, teas.
- Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor to include but not limited to dishwashing, cleaning, bussing tables, sweeping and mopping.
- Clean service or seating areas
- Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them.
- Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions.
- Receive and process customer payments.
- Serve prepared foods, such as muffins, biscotti, or bagels.
- Set up or restock product displays.
- Ensure prep work has been completed in accordance with established procedures.
- Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
- Present a professional, quality image at all times.
- Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace
- Exercise sound judgment and awareness regarding language, behavior, and dress and grooming.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge about coffee and espresso preferred.
- Experience operating a professional espresso machine preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to operate a POS system.
- Must be detail oriented with ability to set and meet high customer service standards.
- Must use proper etiquette while conversing with guests.
- Must be able to run and work the line independently.
- Must have excellent cleanliness and sanitation practices.
- Must be efficient, detail oriented and capable of following established procedures as trained.
- Must be proficient in up-selling of products and services.
- Must have a valid Oregon Food Handlers permit.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to carry 50 lbs up a staircase.
- Must be flexible and capable of bending, twisting and kneeling.
- Must be able to work in tight spaces.
- Must be able to work on feet, stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
- Must be able to keep up with the pace of the department/position demands.
