Job Purpose/Summary:
Duties would include cutting mortise and tenon joints, surfacing and finishing timbers, moving material with the forklift, and traveling to help erect the frames. Construct and repair timber frames/packages, rafters, posts, beams, and trusses.
Principal/Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Traveling with crew to erect and install timber frames in Texas and out of state
- Working with power tools (skill saw, belt sander, power drill, etc.)
- Working with traditional hand tools (chisel, mallets, etc.)
- Sanding timber
- Distressing timber
- Cutting and cleaning/squaring joinery on timber
- Ability to effectively read plans and details
- Must be able to lift 100lbs. occasionally and 25lbs. frequently
Minimal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Experience in residential and commercial construction
- Capable of using power tools with confidence
- Carpenter, Framer, or Woodworking experience
- Ability in problem-solving
- Ability to travel with installation crews
- Professional with a positive attitude
- Self-motivated and confident.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
