Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the menu and established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute daily menu items, special events, and seasonal offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including cooking stations, storage areas, and utensils, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and health regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with ordering and stocking as necessary to ensure sufficient supply for daily operations.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients when applicable.
- Maintain knowledge of current food trends, techniques, and cooking methods to continuously improve skills and elevate the quality of dishes.
- Adhere to portion control and waste management guidelines to maximize profitability and minimize food costs.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and culinary interns as needed, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Respond promptly to any customer requests or concerns, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
- Participate in kitchen maintenance and equipment care to uphold safety and sanitation standards.
- Proven experience as a cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in a full-service restaurant or hospitality setting
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus, but not required
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and food safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in a hot, fast-paced environment and handle various kitchen equipment safely.
