Job Summary
As a Parts Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee all aspects of the parts department's operations, including inventory management, ordering, sales, and customer service. You will work closely with service technicians, customers, and suppliers to ensure the availability of parts and accessories required for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Kay Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder parts as needed to prevent shortages.
- Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Place orders with suppliers to replenish stock and fulfill customer requests.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Track order status and expedite deliveries when necessary to meet urgent repair deadlines.
- Handle inquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and resolving issues effectively.
- Recruit, train, and supervise parts department staff.
- Set performance goals and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to enhance productivity and customer service.
- Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and collaboration among team members.
- Monitor expenses, revenue, and profitability, and take corrective actions as needed to achieve financial targets.
- Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements to optimize departmental performance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards governing parts operations, including safety and environmental requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
Work Environment
The employee will work indoors and outdoors in an auto shop environment. The job may involve standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects, as well as occasional interaction with grease, oil, and other automotive fluids.
