Custodian

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on commercial settings.

Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas by restocking supplies and sanitizing surfaces.
• Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, and waxing as needed.
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and infrastructure.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests or emergencies to maintain a safe environment.
• Support industrial cleaning efforts in larger facilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members to complete larger projects or special cleaning assignments.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or equipment malfunctions.

Requirements

• Previous experience in custodial services or commercial cleaning preferred.
• Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment operation.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices is a plus.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills related to custodial work.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 per week

Physical Setting:

• Office
• Outdoor work

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Day shift
• No weekends
• Year round work
