What are the responsibilities and job description for the Thrift Store Driver/Donation/ Receiving Associate position at Time Out, Inc.?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Must be physically fit to constantly lift, bend, stack goods throughout the day. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Good character, fast paced, honest, and safe driving are a must!
The primary purpose of this position is to pick up donated inventory by using our box truck and then delivering the donations back to Time Out Thrift Store. The job entails loading and unloading vehicles in the donation area, receiving donated items, and testing electronic equipment. To offer support within store as needed. Flexibility and a cooperative spirit are crucial characteristics of the person who holds this important position and for the successful operation of Time Out Thrift Store.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Drives company box truck in order to pick up large items to be donated to the store and ensures proper loading and unloading of these items as well as moving items out of all variety of homes, apartments and businesses. Receiving donated items dropped off by community members in the receiving area.
- Ensures compliance with donation acceptance criteria while on the truck and in the receiving area.
- Communicates effectively with donors regarding our processes, policies, and the mission of Time Out.
- Helps to keep the donation center clean, organized, and safe.
- Maintains all supplies and communicates supply needs to management.
- Coordinates and keeps calendar of donation pick up and locations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- A minimum of a high school or equivalent.
- Must possess a current valid driver’s license
- Able to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card from Arizona Dept. of Public Safety
- Moving experience is preferred.
- Knowledge and ability to disassemble and assemble furniture is desirable.
- A good driving record that meets our insurer’s requirements
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated, reliable and enthusiastic.
- Enjoys working with a wide variety of people in many different situations.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.
- Ability to prioritize work, to think critically, and keep a safe workspace.
- Ability to handle and diffuse challenging situations with tact.
- The ability to follow instructions
