Role Summary
TIME Systems is looking for Data Center Engineer to join our team. Your primary objective is to Lead and assist with all design aspects of the CCC data center support systems, to include AC/DC power, UPS, HVAC, and carrier infrastructures, internal/external cable plant, and overall data center layout.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist with all design aspects of the CCC data center support systems, to include AC/DC power, UPS, HVAC, carrier infrastructures, internal/external cable plant and overall data center layout.
- Produce architectural artifacts to include system design diagrams, recommendation justifications and technical specifications.
- Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during and after construction.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and other guidelines where appropriate.
- Create and review civil/structural/architectural design RFPs.
- Conduct site assessments, internal design meetings, construction reviews.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define the processes and standards that govern data center activities.
- Coordinate and control access and logistic support.
- Follow data center procedures and processes.
- Manage and coordinate the installation and maintenance of data center equipment.
- Ensure compliance with data center security protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years in Civil Engineering or the equivalent relevant experience in data center or mission critical facilities design.
- Currently possess a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Currently possess a DoDD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g. Security CE).
- Experience writing strong technical support/triage documentation.
- Experience reviewing system events and performing triage to determine impact and urgency.
- Excellent customer-facing skills.
- Excellent researching, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Visio or AutoCAD.
- Experience managing hardware configuration baselines.
- Experience with Data Center Strategy, Planning, and Roadmap maintenance.
- Knowledge of power infrastructure layout from generation to rack, redundancy levels and techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security and safety.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations and standards.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships, partnerships and external networks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment while keeping the team informed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with ITSM tools, such as Remedy.
- Experience working in a military command or operations center.
- Experience or familiarity with DCIM management software such as NLYTE
- Any associated DoDD 8140 compliant certifications.
