Our organization is in search of a Cost Accounting Supervisor to join our Global Rolled Products division in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
Ensure the accuracy of the fabricating value of inventory.
Maintain the integrity of metal closing processes and outcomes.
Lead and drive initiatives aimed at reducing unit costs.
Provide a precise decision support system to aid critical business choices.
Assess and execute continuous enhancements to financial systems and processes for reliability, consistency with company policies, and prompt responses.
Oversee financial records in line with GAAP and Alcoa accounting policies.
Guide the closing process, including collaboration with FSS, reviewing and approving account reconciliations and balance sheet assessments.
Manage financial and business process audits, sustaining robust internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
Supervise and mentor direct reports, fostering the development and prioritization of their activities.
Assess the financial outcomes of long-term commercial agreements and recommend strategies to boost or safeguard profit margins.
Ensure compliance of non-metal entries with GAAP and Alcoa accounting policies.
Oversee the standard costing system and decision support tools; become an expert user of strategic margins, Oracle, and Hyperion.
Lead the annual burden budget process, along with the regular review of burden rates.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution
A minimum of 5 years' experience in Accounting or Finance
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment eligibility verification will be required upon hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Desirable Qualifications
Familiarity with standard costing systems and budget processes
MBA/CPA/CMA preferred
Significant experience in a manufacturing setting
Proficiency with enterprise business systems like Oracle or SAP
Experience in database querying tools such as Microsoft Access, Oracle Discoverer, Hyperion, Essbase, Smartview and similar programs
Experience with AS400
