Overview

The Project Manager for the Drilling Division plays a critical role in the successful execution of drilling operations within the organization. This position requires an individual who is not only adept in project management principles but also possesses a deep understanding of drilling processes, safety regulations, and industry best practices. The Project Manager will oversee drilling projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role is pivotal in fostering collaboration among various teams, including engineering, operations, and safety, while also being responsible for the overall strategy and direction of drilling projects. The ultimate goal is to drive operational efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The Project Manager will also be a key point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates and addressing any concerns that may arise throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans for drilling operations, outlining scope, timelines, and resources.
• Coordinate with engineering and geoscience teams to define project specifications and objectives.
• Manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and align with financial targets.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
• Lead project meetings and effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards throughout the project.
• Monitor drilling performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize production.
• Manage the procurement of drilling equipment and materials.
• Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Conduct performance evaluations of team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Report project status to senior management and key stakeholders regularly.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on project outcomes.
• Ensure that all documentation related to drilling projects is accurate and up to date.
• Facilitate training and development opportunities for team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the drilling industry.
• Proven experience managing large-scale drilling projects.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of drilling technologies and techniques.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial reports.
• Experience with risk management methodologies and practices.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and often challenging environment.
• Proficient in project management software and tools.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel to drilling sites as required.
