Overview

The Structural Engineer plays a crucial role in the design, analysis, and evaluation of structures that must withstand various loads and environmental conditions. This position is essential in ensuring that buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure not only meet regulatory standards but also are safe, efficient, and sustainable. Structural Engineers work closely with architects, construction teams, and other engineering specialists to develop innovative solutions that solve complex problems while balancing aesthetic and functionality demands. Expertise in relevant software and materials, combined with a solid understanding of physics and material science, is crucial for structural engineers to excel in their roles. As a Structural Engineer, you will actively contribute to projects from initial concepts through to completion, ensuring structures are safe, durable, and economically viable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze structural components and systems.
  • Collaborate with architects to integrate design concepts.
  • Perform calculations to ensure structural integrity.
  • Prepare detailed structural drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor construction processes to validate project specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with codes.
  • Evaluate existing structures for safety and durability.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures.
  • Advise on materials, methods, and technologies for construction.
  • Communicate designs and analysis results to stakeholders.
  • Prepare project reports and documentation.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
  • Research and apply current building codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors and construction personnel.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and interns.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Engineer Intern or State licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Strong understanding of materials science and engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Experience in project management and coordination.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS).
  • Familiarity with construction methods and practices.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Commitment to continual learning and professional development.

Salary : $100,000 - $104,000
