QA Technician

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring product quality. He/she will also support the quality program through product development and product optimization.

The Quality Technician must have a strong sense of ownership of the quality program and the product and must be able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure product being made conforms to standards
• Communicate with operators to ensure quality issues get solved promptly
• Write and maintain accurate testing records
• Support both quality department and engineering as necessary with product development and corporate documentation
• Recommend changes for product optimization
• Maintain a safe, neat, and clean work area
• Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
• Prompt, timely, effective communication to management regarding problems with projects and process equipment
• Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Quality Manager, on an as needed basis

Occasional Duties:

• Train Down Stream Technician (DST) in spotting defects and correct coiling of tile
• Cover breaks for DSTs or fill in for call offs
• Warehousing of material and watching of mix station as needed
• Perform lab testing of product in the absence of lab technician

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Must be able to work and complete projects independently
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to travel to all company facilities as needed
• Conscientious attention to detail and quality
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
• Ability to work full time schedule with overtime as needed
