Tin Roost restaurant and patio in North Liberty, IA is gearing up for our busy patio season. We are looking for experienced full-time and part-time Servers and/or Bartenders to join our team.
As a Server and/or Bartender at Tin Roost you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests, taking orders, and ensuring a positive dining and drinking experience. You’ll work closely with front-of-house and back-of-house staff to provide accurate and timely service in a fast-paced, friendly environment.

Located in the heart of North Liberty, IA Tin Roost is a locally owned, independent restaurant with 2 private party rooms, 400 seats, a scratch kitchen serving up home-grown American fare, and one crazy big outdoor patio. We proudly feature 36 beers on tap and offer over 80 whiskeys in the bar.

Pay: $4.35 per hour tips, tipped out nightly.
Schedule: Full and part-time openings, weekend availability is a must.

Job Responsibilities
Server Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests promptly, providing menus and offering a warm welcome.
- Present menu items and daily specials, providing recommendations as needed.
- Take accurate food and drink orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Anticipate guest needs and ensure a high level of service throughout their dining experience.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
- Ensuring that tables, chairs, and dining areas are clean and well-organized. Assisting with resetting tables for the next guests.
- Process payments, provide accurate bills, and manage the checkout process efficiently.
- Complete assigned opening and closing duties, including sidework, cleaning, and stocking.
- Complying with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
- Juggling the responsibilities of serving multiple tables at once, ensuring all guests are attended to without long waits.
- Assisting other servers, host, bar, or kitchen staff during busy shifts to ensure smooth operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Bartender Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, and wine.
- Maintain bar cleanliness, including wiping down surfaces, washing glassware, and organizing supplies.
- Check guest IDs to verify legal drinking age and follow responsible alcohol service guidelines.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption to ensure responsible service and avoid over-serving.
- Stock and replenish bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and glassware.
- Mix and serve drinks quickly and accurately during high-volume periods.
- Engage with guests at the bar, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
- Handle cash and credit transactions for drinks and tips, ensuring accurate change and payments.
- Maintain inventory of alcohol and bar supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
- Ensure compliance with local liquor laws and regulations regarding alcohol service.
- Prepare and serve shots, cocktails, and specialty drinks as requested by guests.
- Clean and sanitize the bar area, including equipment and utensils, to maintain health and safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
- Prior experience as a server and/or bartender in a customer service role preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift trays of food or drinks.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of food and beverage safety practices is a plus.
