Job Overview
I am looking for someone with not only an understanding for animal care, but a background in managerial skills as well. I run a very laid back animal care business in NJ, but I live across the country so I need someone in the East Coast time zone to help me with some managerial tasks. If you have a history with animal care, you can also be an employee that completes appointments with the animals if that is something you would like! Pay and training is separate for that part of the job. While it is not required that you complete any appointments for this job, I will definitely be more likely to hire someone that will want the responsibility of being a manager that can help complete appointments if there is an emergency or a last minute call out.
Duties
- Payroll. I will need you to go through the schedule weekly and add up the employees gross incomes on an excel sheet I have pre made. I need to send these gross income totals to my accountant every Wednesday before 3pm. This usually takes an hour max.
- Help answer client messages. I live in Oregon meaning I am 3 hours behind and since I work two other jobs, it is extremely hard for me to answer clients in NJ in a timely manner. I have an application that the clients can text so we both have access to answering these messages. Usually client communication has to do with scheduling appointments, taking requests, answering questions for new clients. This is a texting app, no calls necessary. I also have an email. This is usually a few messages a day, probably less than an hour a week.
- In the employee group chat help answer employee questions. Ask the chat about request inquiries and schedule them (we use square space) and update clients.
- Help update our client app. When we get new clients or updated client information, transfer those updates to our client app.
- Hold on to my physical supplies the employees will need: t-shirts, business cards, poop bags, cookies, leashes, keys, etc.
- Bonus: Someone that has an animal care background can help train future employees, pick up shifts, help if someone calls out.
