What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barback, Busser, and Food Runner position at Tinajas Wine & Beer?
Tinajas Wine & Beer is a *new* wine tasting lounge and bottle shop in northern Tucson, on the corner of Sunrise and Kolb. With a cellar capacity of nearly 5000 bottles, we are seeking wine enthusiasts and craft beer aficionados to join our team! We’re currently hiring for a part-time barback (8-10 hours weekly) and a new bartender (15-25 hours).
Tinajas will have a vast selection of high-end wines on high-tech dispensers, offering customizable flights or individual glasses for sale. Our custom wine cellar will house an even larger variety of bottles available for purchase in-house or to-go. Although our bottle selection represents Old World and New World varietals and styles of wine-making, our interest is focused on limited production, sustainable producers. Whether you feel deeply comfortable tasting and discussing wine OR you have interest in learning, we’d love to meet with you!
Tinajas offers an extensive list of charcuterie options, while occasionally working local restaurants to offer appetizers with wine pairing options for private events. Although previous food service experience is not required, Title 4 and a food handlers certificate will be.
Compensation will be hourly (plus tips), with room for negotiation based on experience/knowledge. We also offer a goal-based incentive program for employees. Employees will also have the opportunity to receive bonuses by signing up guests for the Tinajas wine club. Not to mention, Tinajas’ employees will have the opportunity to sample incredible wines from around the world and gain invaluable insight into wine theory, blind tasting, and fine-dining wine service.
